Sri Vast Ashram India and its surrounding
Sri Vast Ashram is beautifully situated in a lush area, a twenty minutes walk from the ocean, right on the east cost of Tamil Nadu, South India. Pondicherry, a former French colonial town is 6 km nearby: calm and beautiful, with influences inherited both from European and Indian culture, also known for Sri Aurobindo's Ashram. Thiruvannamalai can be reached within two hours, a temple city well known for the sacred mountain Arunachala and the Ashram of Ramana Maharishi. The International Airport of Chennai is accessible in two hours drive.

From the exotic landscape by the very gate of the Ashram you have walking distance to the village Kuilapalayam. Here you can find all the basic items and services like: internet-café, taxi service, bakery, bikes for rent, travel agents, restaurants, tailor, boutiques, fruit market, money exchange etc. The Sri Vast Ashram is situated nearby Auroville - the largest international eco-village in the world. We are thankful for this multi cultural neighbourhood, sensitized to keep the environment green and calm.

How to come to Sri Vast Ashram India:

Sri Vast Ashram is situated outside Pondicherry, on the east coast of South India, Tamil Nadu. It is 2 hours South of Chennai and 2 hours from Thiruvannamalai. The nearest airport is situated outside Chennai. Contact the Ashram in advance if you wish help to arrange a taxi to meet you up at the airport.

From Chennai town it is easy to take a taxi or the East Coast Road Bus towards Pondicherry. If you come by bus get down at Auroville bus stop. 500 meters North is the village Bommayapalayam. From there follow the signboard pointing towards "Sri Vast Ashram" direction Kuilapalayam.
